just because she is ten doesnt mean she is ready i didnt start until twelve and its been three years now and you know sometimes its better to wait cuz now im even better than girls older than me! let her teacher decide when she is ready
OUCH POUCH!
CUT THE THREAD!
i have tied my pointe shoes b4 and i never tied them like that i am 13 and i have been dancing 4 10 1/2 yrs i started pointe wen i was 11
ohhh i hateee breaking point shoeess :[
pancake them. put rosin on the satin. you teacher should know what i am talking about.
See, our dance teacher has us simply crisscross the ribbons once in front and once in back, then tie a knot on the inside of the foot. The extra ribbon is cut off and the edges burned (which keeps it from fraying). My shoes are Capezio Glisse, and they are wonderful. The rest of my class uses Bloch (I went to a diffent retail) and their arch isn’t nearly as good. I think I got lucky there.
i need to finish sowing my elastic on. And i need a gel pad. wool isn’t really working.
that wasn’t really a question though…
I have grishko 2007’s and they work great with my feet!! I read in pointe magazine that people with grishkos usually look quite good in russian pointes you might want to try that out
Use calimine lotion (its what you use if you have poison ivy or something like that) it in a pink bottle and just rub it over the shoe not the shank and give it a couple of hours to dry. Or some of my friends use face powder
this makes me excited to get my pointe shoes soon!
these are good for pratices…..but we can’t do all this during exmas huh.
thank you thank you!!
(:

You can do what she said but dont soak them. get them slightly damp and it should stick well.
I have a question: I did “pointe” for a few years, all with my dance instructors permission. Its been 2 years since then and (somehow) I managed to fit in my old shoes perfectly. do you think it would be okay to start doing pointe on my own without a dance instructors approval?
also, I always got ingrown toenails (man, they hurt) when I did pointe, I cut my toenails down… why did that happen?
thanks (:
that was good. i have problems tying my pointe shoes, whenever i tie them, no matter how tight they are, they never seem to help. i don’t know if it’s because i sewed them too far forward or what… please help?
