USS North Carolina (BB-55) was a battleship of the United States Navy, the lead ship of the two-ship North Carolina class, and was the first new-construction battleship to enter service during World War II. Washington was her only sister ship. She was the fourth Navy ship named for the state of North Carolina. North Carolina participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific theater. She currently rests as a museum ship at the port of Wilmington, North Carolina.

People are fascinated by the objects created by Karl Faberge, not just because they are beautiful and crafted from precious metals and jewels, but also because they are associated with the last tsar of Russia, Nicholas II and his family, who were murdered in 1918 by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Revolution. The exhibition, “Faberge Revealed,” at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, contains more than 500 objects, including seven of the jeweler’s most famous works, the Imperial Easter Eggs.

The videos illustrate the different phases of community development across the US, from a grass roots faith-based movement in Detroit, MI to a sophisticated multilayered effort in Phoenix, AZ. The Foundation of Love Ministry in Detroit, is a faith-based organization leveraging minimal resources to help its constituents find decent affordable housing. In St. Louis, MO ‘Beyond Housing,’ a NeighborWorks affiliate is working with 24 municipalities to unify strategies and share resources; the third showcases Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc., a complex nonprofit organization with four areas of focus, ‘braided’ together to improve the quality of life for people in the communities they serve.
