This is part one of a two part video. This was an amazing time during Jordan’s visit to San Francisco for five days in late April. After dinner with the gang from Apple, PRThatRocks.com, and Pyramind – and others – driving back to Marin to his hotel, Jordan plugged his iPhone into my Prius’ car stereo, cranked it and gave me a two part personal, completely improvised, concert with the beta version of his WizBot app (a variation of the BeBot app). I recorded the entire thing with my iPhone as I was driving along Golden Gate Park in the City.
The Design Partnership and McCarthy Building Companies teamed up to design, fundraise, and build a can structure at the City View at the Metreon. The theme this year was the Spirit of San Francisco. The structure is made out of 8000 cans of different proteins, vegetables, and fruit. All cans and proceeds will go to the San Francisco Food Bank. This was the honorable mention winner for San Francisco’s first ever CANstruction event for building the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA).

Mozart’s first operatic masterpiece, which premiered two days before his 25th birthday, is a thrilling mix of florid vocal writing and eloquent orchestral episodes. The great Mozartean tenor Kurt Streit returns to San Francisco in one of his signature roles: a powerful king who, in the aftermath of the Trojan War, makes a pact that he comes to regret. Vienna critics raved, “Kurt Streit masters the monster role of Idomeneo with confidence,” and “his tenor radiates power, brilliance, grandeur.” The superb cast, conducted by Donald Runnicles, also includes the acclaimed British mezzo-soprano Alice Coote and notable artist debuts.
